2. Booking and Payment

To secure a skip hire, Customers must complete the booking process through our website or by contacting our customer service team. A deposit may be required at the time of booking. Payments can be made via credit card, debit card, or other approved payment methods.

  • Payment Terms: Full payment is due upon delivery of the skip.
  • Payment Methods: We accept major credit/debit cards and online payment systems.

3. Hire Period

The hire period begins on the date of delivery and ends on the agreed return date. If the skip is not returned by the end of the hire period, additional charges may apply for each day the skip remains on site.

  • Standard Hire Period: Typically 7 to 14 days, subject to availability.
  • Extensions: Must be requested before the end of the hire period and are subject to availability and additional fees.

4. Use of Skip

Customers are responsible for ensuring that the skip is used in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The skip must not be overloaded or used for inappropriate waste disposal.

  • Limitations: Maximum fill levels must not be exceeded to allow for proper handling and transportation.
  • Permitted Waste: General household waste, green waste, and construction debris, unless specified otherwise.

5. Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled delivery to avoid cancellation fees. Refunds will be processed according to the following schedule:

  • Full Refund: Cancellations made 7 days or more before delivery.
  • Partial Refund: Cancellations made between 2 to 6 days before delivery.
  • No Refund: Cancellations made less than 24 hours before delivery.

6. Liability

Stratford Skip Hire is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use our skip hire services. Customers assume all risks associated with the use of the skip.

  • Insurance: Customers are encouraged to have appropriate insurance coverage for liability.
  • Damage to Property: We are not responsible for any damage caused to the Customer’s property during the placement or removal of the skip.

7. Insurance

Customers are responsible for ensuring that their waste disposal activities comply with local regulations and that they have adequate insurance to cover any potential liabilities.

  • Coverage: It is recommended to have public liability insurance.
  • Proof of Insurance: May be required upon request.

8. Prohibited Items

The following items are strictly prohibited from being disposed of in our skips:

  • Hazardous Waste: Chemicals, explosives, asbestos, and other dangerous materials.
  • Electronic Waste: Batteries, electronics containing hazardous substances.
  • Medical Waste: Biohazard materials, pharmaceuticals.
  • Other Prohibited Items: Tires, large appliances, and any item prohibited by local regulations.

Failure to comply may result in additional charges or legal action.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate the hire agreement at any time if the Customer fails to comply with these Terms and Conditions. In such cases, the Customer will be liable for any costs incurred up to the termination date.

  • Immediate Termination: In cases of violation of prohibited items or unlawful use of the skip.
  • Notice: Customers will be notified of termination via email or phone.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in this region.

11. Amendments

Stratford Skip Hire reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Customers will be notified of any significant changes, and continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
